THESIS QUESTION/STATEMENT

Why did the city Belo Horizonte government decide they needed to address hunger? What precipitated this initiative? What new economic models or paradigms did they introduce? How was their approach intersectional? How does the effort to reduce hunger affect future generations? And, relating to what we discussed in class, how can these efforts build social cohesion and communal resilience in the face of disaster?

How did the city of Belo Horizonte manage to create a cross-cultural, intersectional coalition with its citizenry to address the acute threat of food insecurity and the climate crisis at the same time?
